Israelis have been dressed in costumes since Adar began, a long-standing tradition in Israel. Some people are dressed as ballot boxes or ice cream to celebrate the recent third elections for a prime minister and a political party. As the saying goes here, “The third time we meet calls for ice cream!” Yad Ezra V’Shulamit takes that holiday excitement much further: We will be feeding over 500 widows and orphans with a festive Purim seuda/celebratory meal in our Jerusalem and Tzfat locations on their respective Purim days.

Each Purim party participant will also receive a Mishloach Manot gift (delicious, colorful packages of ready-to-eat food customarily given on Purim day), a festive sit-down meal inside our buildings, food vouchers, and cash.

One of the mitzvot of Purim is to provide charity to needy people. Yad Ezra V’Shulamit knows the mitzvah well, and how necessary it is across the always-vulnerable holy land. We helped needy Israelis last Purim, and before then, too.

You can join the fun and fulfill a few of the mitzvot of tzedaka applicable to Purim day when you donate in time to make Yad Ezra V’Shulamit’s Purim plans a pre-paid reality.

Purim is celebrated in most cities on Adar 14, and within historically walled cities on Adar 15. All donations received on Adar 14 aka March 10, 2020 will be distributed to needy Israelis outside Jerusalem, and all donations received on Adar 15 aka March 11, 2020 will be given to needy people within Jerusalem.

Contact us at 972.2.585.6002 or 972.2.540.0058, or at feedisrael@yadezra.net. Or click here to make your tax-deductible donation. There’s nothing like laboring for the love of fellow Jews. It’s the sort of fun that warms the body and the heart.

Yad Ezra V’Shulamit is a registered charity in Australia, Canada, Israel, the United Kingdom, and the USA. Please make a note that the donation is for Yad Ezra V’Shulamit for all online donations, wire transfers and checks.

We wish you a joyous Purim, or as we say in Hebrew, Purim Samayakh!
