A Time to Heal: Help Support Israel’s Families
Aug 27, 2025
At 6:29 AM on the morning of October 7, the lives of every Israeli, and every Jew around the world, changed. For some, that meant the loss of a loved one, a home, even an entire community. For others, it meant the shattering of a sense of safety, security, and hope.
Israel is now facing one of the longest and most challenging wars in its modern history. Its impact is deep, personal, and far-reaching. No one remains untouched. Soldiers on the front lines, civilians at home, families in every city and town. In Israel, when the nation is at war, we are all in it together.
The Toll We Cannot Ignore
Families have lost sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents. Homes have been destroyed. Businesses shattered. Jobs disappeared. And while the emotional burden is heavy, the financial strain is just as crushing. Food prices continue to rise, making survival even harder for those who were already struggling before the war.
Before the conflict, 1 in every 3 children in Israel lived below the poverty line. Today, that number has only grown. Families who once managed to get by are now pushed into crisis.
We cannot let this become the new normal.
Yad Ezra V’Shualmit: A Second Chance, A Lifeline
This is where Yad Ezra V’Shulamit comes in. We are there for those who need us with more than just their daily bread: chicken, fish, noodles, rice, fresh produce, infant formula. We give what they need to last the week, each and every week of the year. We support widows, orphans, children-in-need, families, infants, the elderly, and even young couples who can’t afford a basic wedding. Israel’s people. From the north in Kiryat Shmona to Yerucham in the south, and at 93 distribution points in-between, we are there for people-in-need wherever they are. Our mission is clear: no one is left behind.
Yad Ezra V’Shulamit stands with widows and orphans. We provide for the elderly and Holocaust survivors. We bring food and support to children so they can grow, learn, and dream despite the darkness of war.
Our work is not only about emergency aid. It is about the long, hard road of healing. War doesn’t end when the sirens stop. Healing takes time, months, even years, and throughout that journey, people need food, stability, and the reassurance that their community cares.
The Jewish Heart of Giving
In Jewish tradition, we are taught Kol Yisrael arevim zeh bazeh, all of Israel is responsible for one another. This timeless value has carried us through exile, persecution, and hardship. Today, it calls on us again: to feed the hungry, comfort the mourning, and strengthen the brokenhearted.
Yad Ezra V’Shulamit supporters embody this value. They are not only giving food; they are giving dignity, hope, and healing.
Your Role in Israel’s Healing
War takes lives, homes, and a sense of security. But it can never take away our commitment to one another. That is why Yad Ezra V’Shulamit will continue our work until every family has food on the table, every child can go to bed nourished, and every survivor knows they are not forgotten.
Healing does not happen overnight. It is a journey built on one act of kindness, one meal, one gift at a time. Together, we can transform pain into strength, loss into resilience, and despair into hope.
In the face of tragedy, the people of Israel have shown unimaginable courage, endurance, and faith. Across the country, and across the world, countless individuals have opened their hearts, wallets, and arms to help neighbors rebuild and recover. This spirit of unity and compassion is the very essence of Israel.
