Jamie Geller, Queen of Kosher visits the Children’s Center

Dec 15, 2022

"Lunch is not a luxury" stated famed Chef Jamie Geller when visiting Yad Ezra V'Shulamit's Children Center where hundreds of underprivileged children receive a daily hot lunch. Jamie Geller is a popular Jewish chef who is known for her delicious kosher food. She is a best-selling author of 7 cook books and hosts a weekly live series called “Feed Your Soul”.

Jamie was impressed with all of the services that are offered to the children that we help. “Without the help of Yad Ezra V’Shulamit, we would not have the opportunity to feed Jerusalem’s poorest children”, says Jamie. It starts with a daily hot lunch which always includes vegetables and protein. A good, nutritious lunch is something that most people take for granted but unfortunately many of our children do not get it at home so they come to our center. Additionally, we offer homework assistance, different kinds of therapies, a Gymboree, a summer camp and a backpack program for those that need a new backpack for school.

We are currently running a matching gift campaign and you can sponsor a child to have a hot lunch every day. For every dollar that you give, two dollars will go to help feed a child in Jerusalem. Last year, thanks to you, we opened our new Children’s Center in Tzfat for poor Children in Israel. Now we need your help to feed and care for 210 of the poorest Children at our Children’s Center in Jerusalem. Unfortunaly, we need to move to a larger location and we need your help for these poor Jewish children in Israel. At the center, each child will receive a daily hot lunch, help with their homework, access to a computer lab, library, art, animal and music therapy, new winter coats and clothing, new backpacks, school supplies, a Gymboree room, a summer camp, and so much more.

Yad Ezra V’Shulamit is giving these children everything they do not receive at home, in a very warm, and loving environment. Please help us in helping to bring these children out of poverty. For only $289, you can feed 1 child for 1 month. You can donate here.
