Several weeks ago, we mentioned that the summer is here, yet it is already over for Yad Ezra V’Shulamit. This is because we are constantly thinking ahead about the various programs we run throughout the year. If you think about it, the school year is almost here. There are less than 2 months until the start of the new school year. The children under our care are in need of new backpacks and school supplies. Thus, we have been hard at work gathering as many supplies as necessary to help these children prevail in their studies.
While the back to school program of ours is a crucial one, the children in our care centers also need a break. Though poverty doesn’t take a vacation, vacation is a fundamental element in a child’s life. Therefore, we started another initiative that has flown under the radar for quite some time. Allow us to introduce: the Yad Ezra V’Shulamit summer camp.
Yes, this year we have opened a summer camp for all to enjoy. Our staff came to the conclusion that giving children in need a break will allow them to develop to their fullest potential under our care. Educational programs are important. Food is important. Tutoring is important. But, these things are just not possible to implement every day of the year, especially when talking about kids. They need a break. So, why not give them the summer that every normal kid experiences?
This summer camp is, needless to say, 100% free. It is a place where children can come together for some action-packed activities, a nice selection of food, and good memories. This camp also helps develop these children’s social skills, which will deeply help them later on in life. As we implied above, small things like this can impact a child’s life in more ways than we could ever imagine.
As with all of our programs, this could not have been possible without your donations. Please consider making one today to help give a child a fun and enjoyable summer vacation!
