Two weeks ago, Yad Ezra V’Shulamit sent 100 tons of food to Israelis in the South who are living in bomb shelters due to the ongoing rockets from Gaza.
As our staff and volunteers distributed the food, warning sirens went off, signaling incoming rockets, but that did not deter our dedicated workers. They completed the food distribution in four different Southern cities, bringing residents not just sustenance but the gift of boosted morale.
After our initial delivery, Yad Ezra V’Shulamit received over 5000 calls from residents of the South, all requesting more food and supplies. Callers told the staff that they had originally appealed to government offices; unable to provide any relief, the government directed them to Yad Ezra V’Shulamit.
As always, we could not stand idly by while our brothers and sisters were (and are) crying for help. Therefore, Yad Ezra V’Shulamit founder, Aryeh Lurie, arranged that every day this week, a truck loaded with food will go to a different city in the South and distribute food to those in need. Each truck will contain seven tons of food, enough to feed 300 families.
As you can imagine, the cost of tons and tons of food has reached into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. We ask for your help to cover the costs in any way you can; donate, spread the word to your friends or post on Facebook. The more you donate, the more food we will be able to send, and the more people will receive the help they so desperately need during this time of war.
We may be under attack from Hamas, but we will always be there for each other in times of crisis.
