Helping Hand

There are many principles that are part of the Jewish religion, but one that many focus on is around “love thy neighbor.” This can be seen in various parts of the Torah, and one of the main “offshoots” of this statement is found in the Talmud: כל ישראל ערבים זה לזה – “All of Israel are responsible for each other.”

The above statement has two primary meanings. One – that if a Jew sees another Jew about to sin, he/she has an obligation to stop it and help their fellow Jew in need. But the second meaning is much more powerful. The statement implies that all Jews must care for each other by making sure that all Jews basic needs are met. This is one of the primary foundations on what Yad Ezra V’Shulamit was built upon.

PM Benjamin Netanyahu

It’s not often that you see a Prime Minister endorse a private organization. And yet, Yad Ezra V’Shulamit was blessed in this regard. A while back, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu endorsed yad Ezra V’Shulamit and surprised us by mentioning a cornerstone of our organization: that all Jews are responsible for each other. How We Help All of Israel

While we are based in the holy city of Jerusalem, our trucks and services know no bounds thanks to our generous donors. We help people all over the country through a range of various initiatives that include:

  • Feed a Baby Program
  • Our Renowned Children’s Center
  • Food Baskets
  • Teens at Risk
  • Job Desk
  • Distribution
  • Emergency Relief
  • Back to School Distribution

From adults to children, as long as someone needs help, we are there to help ensure that their basic needs are met. Additionally, we try and go above and beyond by helping people with employment, thus breaking the cycle of poverty once and for all.

Being responsible to all Jews is a large undertaking, but one that we feel confident in accomplishing. If you’d like to help with this responsibility, please consider making a donation today.
